DigiOutreach stands with Project Flamingo for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In October, DigiOutreach proudly stood in solidarity with women and families affected by breast cancer  ̶  supporting by driving awareness, education and access to care.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we partnered with Project Flamingo to host an Early detection and awareness talk, while launching Wear pink Wednesdays; a weekly show of unity that invites everyone to wear pink every Wednesday in October to spark conversations and spread awareness.

Project Flamingo

Founded in 2010 by Dr. Liana Roodt, Project Flamingo is a South African non-profit organization dedicated to timely and dignified breast cancer care. By addressing critical gaps in the public healthcare system, the organization provides fast-tracked surgeries, diagnostic support, patient care packs and advocacy for improved systems.

Over the years, Project Flamingo has performed more than 1,800 life-saving surgeries, supported thousands of women through their cancer journeys, and become a trusted voice for early detection and dignified treatment. Their vision is clear: no woman should wait unnecessarily for breast cancer care.

Supporting awareness and dignity

The Early detection and awareness talk highlighted the importance of regular self-examinations, recognizing early warning signs and breaking the stigma around breast health conversations. It reminded us that knowledge and awareness are the first steps to saving lives.

DigiOutreach’s commitment through the Wear pink Wednesdays campaign builds on this mission, where every pink ribbon, scarf and shirt worn was a visible act of support, a way to honour survivors and a reminder to prioritize early detection.

A future of hope and care

Thanks to our partnership with Project Flamingo during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our donation enabled a full day of life-changing surgeries. At DigiOutreach, we’re proud to stand with women, families, and organizations working to make breast cancer care timely, dignified, and accessible.
